Fuel things to come…

Hey, everyone! I hope you are all doing great, and I’m looking forward to seeing you all at a Fuel show in 2013. The summer tour is coming together, and we have a list of great shows ahead of us.

We will be heading out on “The Big Night Out!” tour package with three other great bands. We are stepping it up into some outdoor venues, theaters, and we will have some more intimate shows, as we love being close to the fans! Details are a bit hush, hush, but a formal press release is planned. This will be a hot ticket, so plan on getting your seats as soon as they go onsale, before they are all gone.

Also, we still have a few details to work out, but if all goes as planned, you’ll have a new Fuel single for download this summer. Woohoo!

It’s been far too long, and I know that all of you Fuelies have been waiting for this day as much as I have. As I said, we have a few details to work out, and handshakes to make, but we are targeting the first single for mid-summer. Don’t forget to drive your local radio stations crazy with requests, and tweet, post, text, etc.!!

On another note, it’s with a heavy heart that I announce to all of you that Ken Schalk has decided that it’s best that he no longer continues his role as the drummer of Fuel. Ken was saddened to leave the band because he loves performing live. He absolutely loved playing with us, and for you, but his young daughters come first right now. Sometimes it’s not easy being a traveling musician, and I completely understand the decision he has made for himself. Ken laid some amazing drum tracks on the new music. Ken is not only a wonderful drummer but a great person and friend.

And with that said, I’d like to introduce you all to the new drummer of Fuel! If you could all give a warm welcome to Bryan Keeling! Bryan is an excellent drummer that has been playing with Eric Sardinas lately and also played with Shooter Jennings for a number of years. He’s a heavy hitter that knows how to throw a sexy groove. Feel free to give Bryan a shout out and welcome him to the Fuel Wikipedia band member graph. Lord knows that thing is starting to look like a Christmas tree! Haha! Here is Bryan’s personal Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/keelgood?fref=ts

Throughout all of the ups and downs over the years I’d like to thank each and every one of you for being the best fans anyone could ever ask for. You’ve been there through the good times and the bad and I love you for your passion and patience. I assure you all, the best is yet to come!

Peace, love, and all that hippy shit,

     Brett

Thank you to the Fuelies!

Hey, everyone! I hope this finds you all doing great. I just wanted to say thank you to all who made it out to a Fuel show this summer. I know I can speak for everyone in the band when I say that we had a great time playing for you and so many wonderful memories were made in the process. Keep an eye on the tour schedule because we aren't done playing shows just yet. Shiprocked is coming up right after Thanksgiving and if you can afford a fun boat ride to the Bahamas I'd advise you to get your tickets asap. We will also be doing a number of shows throughout October so get your butts out if we are in your area. Now it's time for us to look toward the future. We've locked ourselves back into the studio to finish recording this new record so we can get it in your hands as soon as possible. These are the moments that I was thinking about the entire time I was on the road. Getting home so we can finish what we started. It's a new age and I feel that the music we will be offering you will speak for itself. I can't wait and I hope the anticipation is killing you as much as it is me. God bless all of you and I hope to see you soon!

SUMMER 2012...

Hey, all you beautiful Fuelies! Well, here we are in the final year of the Mayan calendar. As some of you know, they have predicted the world to come to an end on December 21st of this year. That happens to also be my birthday so I must be the antichrist. Funny. I always knew there was a special purpose for me. As we may be in our final days the best thing to do is make the best year we have all ever seen. The new World Fire Brigade record is coming out this year, Fuel is in the studio preparing a new record also to come out this year, and Fuel will be out playing the "oldies" as well as a whole new batch of songs that none of you have ever heard. The tour starts in early June and will go to about mid-August so keep an eye out here, and at other various websites for information about us coming to your town. I'm looking forward to another fun trip around this beautiful country we call home. Peace and love to all of you, and I'll see you in the front row!

HAPPY HOLIDAZE!!!

Hey to all you Fuelies out there! Once again the year has sped to a close.  Santa is on his way and the final year of the Mayan calendar is upon us.  Let's all hope that they were wrong. If it is our final year on this big ball we call home let's make it a good one. We are starting the Fuel season out with a month of dates starting January 20th so we can get out and play a few shows and test out even more new songs on all of you guys and gals. We are posting some of the dates here at fuelrocks.com and more are to follow soon so put your road trips together accordingly. I hope that you all had a wonderful and prosperous 2011 and I look forward to seeing all of your smiling faces in 2012. Let's make it a great one!

Your friend in music,

an introduction is in order...

Hey, everyone! I hope this finds you all doing great and I hope you are all looking forward to a fun batch of shows. The schedule gets more and more grueling as we speak and we would not have it any other way.  First off, I'd like to say welcome to Park Lane, Pale, and Man Made Machine!  These 3 bands are going to join us for the bulk of the tour. Below are links to some of their sites for you to check out and get familiar.

On another note, as most of you know, Yogi will no longer be playing with Fuel.  When I first started doing this again I wanted to put together a group of guys that I could play the back catalog of music with, and also prepare for a new Fuel record.  I've been looking for writing partners that are willing to be committed to Fuel first.  When I first asked Yogi to be a part of this he said yes and we went out and toured.  As soon as that tour was over he chose to go to another gig.  I was bummed to find out that I was losing him but I chose to be nice and wish him the best.  After his other gig was over he asked me about doing Fuel again, and things weren't working out with Jasin Todd, so I excitedly said yes to Yogi.  At that point we discussed the future of the band and writing music together, and it seemed like we had our guitar player back.  After awhile Yogi, Brad and myself finally got together to write some music. Things went pretty good although the song ideas we worked on were mine and Brad's.  Not long after that Yogi went out of the country for nearly a month with very little correspondence. A couple of days after he returned from his trip he and I had a heated discussion about his loyalty.  At the end of the day, Yogi is a "hired gun".  I love the guy to death but I simply was losing too much sleep wondering if I was going to have a guitar player for the shows we were booking.  At that point I thought it was best for Yogi and I to part ways.  I immediately started my search for our new guy.  With that said, I'd like to introduce you all to Andy Andersson. Andy is not only a great guitar player but the guy has some great song ideas that we've already been working on.  I'm so excited to not only share a stage with Andy but to also write a new record with him, Brad and Ken.  This feels so good that I think I may have finally found my unified front.  It would be great if you could all welcome Andy with all of the passion that you all have shown over the years.

I love you all and look forward to melting your faces soon.

-Brett

Upcoming Shows...

Hey, guys and gals. First off, I'm looking forward to a fun tour coming up in a matter of days! We've put together a fun run of shows and I'm looking forward to seeing all of your smiling faces again. We are planning on playing all of the hits that you know and love as well as playing a few brand new songs to try out on you guys. NEW MUSIC!!! WOOHOO!

We are heading to Bethlehem, PA to rock the Musikfest on Friday with Buckcherry! It's going to be a lot of fun being back in the old hood again and to see a lot of people that I haven't seen in a long time. I'd like to extend a huge congratulations to Ken Schalk and his wife on the birth of their beautiful twin girls! Because of the girls coming at this time, Ken has decided that it's best for him to stay at home and not do the Bethlehem show. Ken will meet up with us in San Francisco and do all of the other dates. Filling in for Ken is my old friend, Jonathan Mover. For those of you that don't know, Jonathan played all of the drums for the Sunburn record so he is quite familiar with the material. I can't wait to share a stage with Jonathan again. I'll see you guys this weekend!

What's up, everyone! Wanted to write and say hello and let you all know that we are putting together a Northeast tour right now! We will head out around mid August and make our way from Colorado to New York. Playing a bunch of festivals and headlining a few gigs at your favorite local venues. A full list of dates will be posted soon. Here are a few of the shows that are booked so far, click our Tour Dates tab on the left. Can't wait to see you all!

A time of giving thanks

Holy Crap. From this moment on the month of December is going to be the most insane time of the year for me. As many of you may know, Sawyer Cruz Scallions was born on December 9th, 2010 at 6:14 am. This is really awesome to me since my birthday is December 21st. My son and I will forever be connected not only as father son but also as Sagittarius. Sweet! To top that off, playing Santa for 2 children is going to be enough to blow my mind. My first son, Jagger, has already been receiving gifts from friends and relatives and it's so much fun to see and hear the excitement come from him. One little boy has rekindled my love for Spiderman, Scooby Doo, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. For now I can only imagine what 2 little boys will do. Talk about bliss... I've found it!

I want to thank each and every one of you that have sent birthday wishes to Sawyer and myself as well as holiday wishes for my entire family. It's nice to know that I have fans and friends out there that care enough to reach out and say hi. Deepest love to all of you and I hope that you have the most amazing holiday season that there is to offer. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and let's all ring in a great new year. Onward and upward, 2011 here we come!!!

Peace,

Brett Scallions

All I can say is...WOW!

We are at the tail end of another year! Time certainly flies when you are having fun, and I've been having a blast. Thank you to all of the fans out there who have made it out to the shows this year. It's been so nice to see all of the old skool Fuelies as well as meeting all of the new fans too. I truly love all of you, and look forward to seeing you again real soon.

As some of you have seen, we are going to do one more tour for the year starting on October 21st at The Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, California. This is going to be a special show considering I live in Cali and I'm going to have a ton of friends and family at the show. It's going to be one heck of a party so if you can make it, I advise you to. After the Canyon Club we will be heading east via Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and into Florida. On our way back west we will hit parts of Georgia, Alabama, back into Texas, and will wrap up the year in Las Vegas. We are staying south for the winter, heehee. My skin has grown thin over the years. All of you northerners, we'll see you all again in the New Year. Hopefully with a new batch of tunes! We've been playing a new song in the set for the past couple of months and there are other songs in the works so get ready.

Before I go I'd like to wish everyone a safe and wonderful Halloween. Let's all take pictures of Halloween and post them on the fanboard, shall we? See you all soon!

-Brett

Hello to everyone in the land of Fuel!

Hello to everyone in the land of Fuel! Hope everyone is doing great and are gearing up for the next leg of the tour. We've got some fun dates on the tour and everyone in the band is chomping at the bit to get back on the bus and rock some shows for ya. Speaking of the band, I always try to have good news to balance out the bad news and today I have both. Unfortunately, Yogi will not be able to perform as Fuel's guitarist anymore. Yogi has accepted a gig in Japan for the next three months and it conflicts with the schedule that we are trying to put together for Fuel. I have nothing but the utmost respect and appreciation for Yogi and I'll miss having him next to me on the stage. He's a great guitarist and a wonderful friend. I can't wait to play with you again, my brutha. Ok, enough with the bad news. The good news (actually great news) is that Jasin Todd (Shinedown) is available and will be joining us as our new guitarist! I know, I know. There's more Shinedown on the stage than there is Fuel. I can't wait to hear the jokes. Jasin is a great guitarist and a very talented songwriter. I can't wait to sit in a room with him and the boys and flesh out these songs in my head that keep me up all night. If everyone could please stand up and give a warm Fuelies welcome to Jasin that would be greatly appreciated. See you all very soon! Brett

Week 1 of the Fuel tour...

We hopped on the bus on Sunday night and woke up in Flagstaff, Arizona. Ken and I had a beautiful day to play golf so we hit the links and talked about how excited we are to be back on the road. Hung out on the bus during the evening and rejoiced with the band and crew on our first day together. We have a fun group of guys and I love them all. Yogi on guitar. I've known Yogi since around '98 when he was playing with Buck Cherry and he's been a dear friend to me since. Ken Schalk on drums. Ken was introduced to me by me friend and writing partner, Eddie Wohl, when we needed a drummer for the World Fire Brigade record we are almost finished with. As soon as I heard him play I knew I'd never let him go. He hits the drums harder than anyone I've ever seen. Big pocket to play in. Brad Stewart on bass. I met Brad about 5 or 6 years ago while he was playing with Shinedown and ran into him again at the NAMM show last year. I thought he would be a ton of fun to play with and I was right. Big bass tone and knows how to come up with sexy bass lines. That's the band. We fucking rock.

For the first time in my career, I have my brother, Greg, out on the road with me. It's so awesome to have him with me on a tour and to know that he's always there to have my back. He's taking care of Ken and Brad on this tour and I don't think that they've ever been happier. Rob Starr is taking care of myself and Yogi and all of our guitars. He's by far one of the best guitar tech/stage managers I've ever had. Our guitars always play and sound great. Gregory Wright, mainly known as "G", is tour managing and running front of house. He's a helluva babysitter. Takes damn good care of us and is a lot of fun to be around. When you come out to a show feel free to say hello to any of these guys.

After Flagstaff, we woke up in Amarillo, Texas. Had the best (and only) Mountain Oysters I've ever had. If you have to ask what they are don't bother ordering them.

A couple of days later we arrived in Birmingham, Alabama. SHOW DAY FINALLY!!! It was us, Seether, Theory of a Deadman, and Alice in Chains. Great crowd and a great bill of bands. It was nice to hear the screams of 10,000 people. The next night we played in Destin, Florida for our own crowd. All I can say is awesome. They were with us every step of the set. Singing and dancing like they've never sang and danced before.

Now I sit on a bus and wait for show number 3. Sebastian, Florida right on the beach. Been a perfect day and it will only cap it off with a fun show. The tour is only started and I'm looking forward to each and every one of these shows. I know that they will only get better and better as the band matures and as we see all of your smiling faces. Peace and love, Brett

"Press Release: for immediate release April 8th 2010"
FUEL RE-IGNITE WITH BON JOVI

Fuel, fronted by original lead vocalist Brett Scallions will re-ignite this Spring with tour dates that will include a support slot at Hershey Stadium with Bon Jovi. The original line-up of Fuel has not been together since 1997, when original drummer Jody Abbott left the band. Throughout 1998 - 2007 there were several lineup changes, touring and recording as Fuel. In 2010 with many of the principathel members engaged in other aspects of the entertainment industry, raising families, and just living the American dream, Brett Scallions, the original lead vocalist is proud to fly the Fuel flag to a generation of new and old fans.

"There is only one original of anything" exclaims Scallions, "and that includes Fuel. The original lineup with Carl, Jeff, Jody and myself will always be something special to all of us, and our first Fuelies (a term for Fuel fans) but it has been thirteen years since the original lineup was intact, and since then many great musicians have come and gone. The lineup I put together for Fuel is not meant to replace or diminish what any of the original members created. Just the opposite, it is to give our fans a live destination, and to keep the Fuel name alive for a new generation to discover. Maybe someday we'll all get on the same page and play together again, but life happens and the next thing you know you just can't jump on a bus and take off for a month, let alone a year."

Original bassist Jeff Abercrombie is currently the owner/operator of Thud Studios, a well reputed destination for rehearsing and recording in the greater Los Angeles area www.thudstudios.com. Original lead guitarist, and principal song writer Carl Bell is producing new music for a diversified group of artists. Bell has also been busy writing for film and television. When reached for comment Bell stated, " Look, Brett sang all of this stuff on the bands biggest records, so it's pretty clear that the fans want to hear him singing Fuel songs, and that is what they are going to get. Our fans are important and they deserve a Fuel, even if it isn't an original lineup. Who knows maybe someday there will be an all original reunion. I have learned to never say never."
